Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgical team before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring the operating room is prepared and equipped for each case.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, passing instruments and supplies to surgeons and nurses during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques and preventing contamination.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and safe patient care during surgical interventions.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing surgical procedures, helping to alleviate anxiety and promote positive outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Surgical Tech in a hospital or surgical center setting
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
